Establishing a cohesive horror tone across multiple formats

Designing for both print and environmental elements—posters, tickets, tents, booths, signage—meant ensuring that the atmosphere stayed consistently eerie regardless of format, size, or lighting conditions. The challenge was to maintain brand cohesion without visual repetition.

Balancing legibility with horror-inspired typography

The choice of distressed type and red-on-black contrast helped build a sense of dread, but these needed to remain readable across all mediums, especially in low-light environments like nightclubs or dim alleyways.

Creating suspense without revealing too much

The horror genre thrives on ambiguity. Designing graphics that teased the tone of the event without giving away the experience demanded strategic image cropping, atmospheric textures, and subtle manipulation of light and shadow.

Immersing the audience beyond the poster

Going beyond visual appeal, the project involved designing an entire experiential world—from the moment attendees saw the poster in the metro, to their arrival at the event tent, to the moment they stepped inside the haunted venue. Each piece needed to build upon the last.

result.

The project successfully delivered a chilling, immersive brand experience that blended classic horror aesthetics with modern event design. The bold red-and-black palette, masked figures, and minimal yet menacing typography became instantly recognizable touchpoints. The consistent application across all collateral—from posters to interactive photo booth printouts—created a seamless brand universe. The Haunted Masquerade not only attracted a crowd but also heightened anticipation and intrigue well before the event even began.
